"Portraits in a painted landscape" explores the connection between people and the place in which they live. The project takes a starting point in an older tradition of studio photography with people posing in front of a painted background. When we looked into these older photos we realized that the backgrounds mostly were of idealised Mediterreanean landscapes with columns and dazzling gardens, even though the portrayed people were living in a barren landscape in the north of Sweden.

We have made seven different series and soon we will publish a book.
